WECHU reports 201 new cases

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported 201 new high-risk cases of COVID-19 over the weekend.

There are 228 known active cases in the community. This number does not represent the actual number of cases in the community due to current testing restrictions.

Local hospitals have 23 patients admitted who have tested positive for COVID-19.  Windsor Regional Hospital reports 15 hospital admissions, none are in the intensive care unit.  Erie Shores Healthcare has eight COVID-19 positive patients admitted.

The number of active outbreaks in the community has increased slightly. There are now six outbreaks including one within a hospital unit.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
