WECHU reports two more COVID-19 related deaths

Two more Windsor-Essex residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported a woman in her 40s and a woman in her 70s recently passed away. There have been 591 deaths in the region linked to the virus.

The health unit also reported another 60 high-risk cases on Tuesday afternoon. There are 242 known active cases now.

Local hospitals are treating 23 patients who have tested positive for the virus. Two patients have been admitted to the intensive care unit.

The number of active outbreaks in the community is steady at six.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
