Two arrested in Windsor on stolen property, weapons charges

A man and a woman are facing multiple charges following an alleged traffic violation.

Windsor police officers were in the area of College Avenue and Bridge Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday and spotted a green 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck parked in a no-parking zone.

Officers checked and discovered that the truck was stolen. They arrested the two occupants without incident, according to Constable Darius Goze.

A variety of items, including illicit drugs, a pellet gun resembling a semi-automatic weapon, and tear gas, were confiscated.

A 39-year-old Windsor woman is charged with possession of stolen property under $5000 and two counts of possession of fentanyl and cocaine.

A 35-year-old Windsor man is charged with possession of stolen property under $5000, possession of fentanyl, and possession of a prohibited weapon. Additional charges include six counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited, six counts of failure to comply with a release order, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of breach of probation.

These charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
