WECHU reports 124 new COVID-19 cases

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported 124 new high-risk COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

There are 328 known active cases in the community.

Local hospitals are treating 41 patients who have tested positive for the virus. There are five people in the intensive care unit.

The health unit is monitoring 16 active outbreaks in the community. There are COVID-19 outbreaks within six long-term care or retirement homes, three hospital units, and seven community congregate settings.

There have been no COVID-19 related deaths in Windsor-Essex since March 24, 2022.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
