8,000 Amherstburg homes and businesses getting high-speed internet

Another 8,000 homes and businesses in Amherstburg will soon have high-speed internet thanks to an investment by Bell.

The internet provider is investing $1.7-billion over two years to accelerate the expansion of its broadband fibre, 5G and rural networks across Canada.

The company already spends $4-billion a year expanding its broadband network.

"In addition to other high-speed internet options, we also have fibre available to all residents, businesses, islanders and farms in our municipality," said Mayor Aldo DiCarlo.

The project boosts the town's connection capabilities beyond the total number of properties.
