Average price of a home tops $700K

Buying a home in Windsor-Essex isn't getting any easier. In March, the average price leaped to $723,739.

That's an increase of over 35 per cent from a year ago and 13.7 per cent from January when the average price was $636,422.

While sales dipped last month by five per cent, there was still no shortage of people willing to put their property on the market. Market activity climbed 15.37 per cent from March 2021.

The association said 2,292 properties had changed owners this year, up from 1,984 by March 31, 2021.

Of the 698 homes sold last month, almost half were in the $420,000 to $749,000 price range.

When the Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors published its monthly report, there were 482 listings available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
