OPP investigating fatal collision in Lakeshore

The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal late-night collision in Lakeshore.

Around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided at the intersection of County Road 46 and County Road 25.

Investigators determined a southbound SUV failed to stop at the stop sign and hit an eastbound pick-up truck, sending it off the road.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.

The driver of the pick-up truck was also taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Neither vehicle had any passengers.

Lakeshore Road 209 between South Middle Road and North Rear Road and County Road 46 between Naylor Sideroad and O'Brien Sideroad were closed as the OPP investigated the crash. All roads are now open.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
