Three more COVID-19 deaths

Another three COVID-19-related deaths were reported in Windsor-Essex Friday.

Two men and a woman in their 80s who lived in long-term care or retirement facilities recently passed away after testing positive for the virus.

There has been a total of 607 COVID-19-related deaths in the region since the start of the pandemic.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit also reported 149 new high-risk cases. There are currently 409 known active cases in the community.

Local hospitals are treating 62 patients with COVID-19. There are two patients in the intensive care unit.

The health unit is monitoring 27 active outbreaks in community long-term care homes, hospital units, congregate settings, and workplaces.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
