A new type of Amazon delivery for Windsor

Windsor will soon be home to a new Amazon warehouse.

Dave Bauer, Head of Communications for Amazon Canada, confirmed that it will be a delivery station, which is fed by fulfillment centers and is the last stop for an Amazon package before it reaches the customers' door.

The company purchased the land for the site in the Grand Central Business Park, owned by Rosati Construction, for nearly $12 million on April 1, 2022.

Though the exact number isn't yet known, Bauer said it should bring hundreds of jobs to the area.

"We chose Windsor because it’s a tremendous city with amazing customer demand, access to great employees, academic institutions, major infrastructure and so much more," Bauer stated as the reason for bringing the business to the city.

The site is expected to open in 2024.
