Police lay attempted murder charges after stabbing

A young person is facing attempted murder charges after a stabbing over the weekend.

The Windsor Police Service was called to the area of Parent Avenue and Ellis Street around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found an adult man suffering from stab wounds and he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was arrested a short time later in the area of Giles Boulevard and Parent Avenue. The young person is facing charges of attempted murder and assault with a weapon.  The individual cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The Major Crime Unit is requesting anyone in the area of Parent and Elsmere Avenue, north from Shepherd Street East to Giles Boulevard East, with a surveillance camera or a vehicle equipped with a dashcam, to check their footage for any evidence.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
