Lakeshore reopens Belle River Marina

Not only is the Belle River Marina open now for the boating season, but public washrooms and sports fields are open in Lakeshore too.

The marina opened over the weekend, while other outdoor amenities open on Monday.

"The Belle River Marina welcomes boaters from throughout the region, and our parks are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike," said Mayor Tom Bain.

Earlier this year, contractors dredged a section of Belle River to improve water flow and drainage and used the sand to fill in low-lying areas on Lakeview Park's West Beach. Visitors can expect smoother sand and fewer wet towels this year.

Last year, several parks in Lakeshore were vandalized, so the municipality reminds visitors to report any problems as soon as possible, follow the signs, and use the garbage cans.
