Drag lip sync battle coming to Windsor

A drag lip sync battle is being hosted in Windsor next month.

Participants were selected through audition tapes submitted from individuals throughout the province.

"We have drag kings, we have drag queens, we have AFAB, assigned female at birth hyper-drag entertainers, we have non-binary entertainers," said event host Disco Jesus Windsor. "We opened up this competition to everyone, to be all-inclusive of all levels, of all colours of identities. We're so proud to be representing so many different types of drag with this cast and competition."

The performers will battle one another before a panel of independent judges until a winner is selected. The winner of the event will receive $1,000 grand prize. Other prizes will also be awarded.

"You are going to see lip sync, you are going to see dancing, you're going to see reveals, you're going to see surprises, you're going to see raw emotion. You're going to see a colour of lip syncs to different genres of music," said Disco Jesus Windsor.

The Drag Lip Sync Battle Royale is June 4 at the Waters Edge. A portion of the sales will go to Trans Wellness Ontario. To purchase tickets visit loveco.ca.
