Police investigating weapons call at grade school dance

An investigation is underway after police received a report a young person brought a weapon to a grade school dance.

Officers from the Essex detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were called to the Essex Sports Complex on Fairview Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a young person matching the description of the reported individual.  Police have not said what kind of weapon was involved.

The incident is still under investigation. The OPP is asking any witnesses to come forward immediately.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
