U.S. border officials find a ton of pot inside truck

Pot might be legal in Canada and Michigan, but taking it over the border is not.

Customs and Border Protection officials found a tonne of marijuana inside a tractor-trailer on May 11 at the Fort Street Cargo Facility in Detroit.

Guards x-rayed the trailer, conducted a physical inspection, and used the K-9 unit.

They found 2,175 lbs of marijuana inside boxes labelled as foam pool toys.

Both the trailer and the cannabis were seized.

Officials said the truck was headed into the U.S. from Windsor.
