Fundraiser for Hospice of Erie Shores raises $148,000

Organizers of this year's Run and Roll event for the Erie Shores Health Foundation are declaring victory after raising $148,000 to support the Hospice of Erie Shores.

More than 350 people took part in the revamp event on Sunday, May 15, featuring a 5K walk, 5K run, half marathon, and 20K and 70K bike rides.

"This year was in special memory of Armando Bonfiglio, Marc Sherman, and the other 42 people we loved and lost as seen etched on our Memorial Wall," said Event Chair Kevin Paglione.

"We witnessed new records on both of our 5K and half marathon," he continued. "Committee members took a chance in adding a bike event, and it paid off."

The money was raised through community sponsorships, donations, and registrations. It will go towards annual operating costs at the hospice campus in Leamington.
