LaSalle needs volunteers for strawberry cleaning

Do you have plans for Wednesday evening? The Town of LaSalle could use your help cleaning about 300 flats of strawberries.

The LaSalle Strawberry Festival, which runs from June 9 to June 12, needs the strawberries. The festival is at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex on Laurier Parkway.

Each year, the festival has quarts of strawberries, along with strawberries and ice cream for sale.

Volunteers don't need to register in advance. They should arrive at the LaSalle Fire Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, and an hour or two of their time is all that is needed.

High school students can use it towards their volunteer hours needed for graduation.

There is no parking at the LaSalle Fire Service, but it is available at the LaSalle Civic Centre on Laurier Parkway.

The strawberries are locally grown at Raymont's Berries in Cottam.
