Standoff in LaSalle ends peacefully

Police in LaSalle have charged a 22-year-old man after a brief standoff Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a home on Bouffard Road between Divine Street and Michigan Avenue just before 6:30 p.m.

They responded to a call that a man at the residence had allegedly threatened another person with a firearm. The victim had left the home.

Police closed the road while a crisis negotiator worked to de-escalate the situation.

Bouffard Road is open now.

Police have applied for a warrant to search the home.
