New Windsor-Tecumseh MPP resigns spot on Tecumseh council

After eight years serving as the Councillor for Tecumseh's Ward 1, Andrew Dowie has resigned.

He has to after his win in the Ontario Election last week.

The new Member of Provincial Parliament for Windsor-Tecumseh wrote, "it has been a sincere privilege to be part of the Town of Tecumseh, first as a citizen appointment beginning in 2006, and then as a member of Town Council from 2014 to today."

Councillors accepted the resignation during their meeting Tuesday night and declared his seat vacant.

Town staff will have options to fill that spot in a report expected at the June 28 meeting.
