Windsor man charged with possessing child pornography

A three-month investigation has resulted in the arrest by Windsor police of a man on child pornography charges.

The Windsor Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began the probe in March after receiving a tip about someone who may have committed an offence related to child pornography.

Few details have been released, but Constable Bianca Jackson said the investigation uncovered an adult male and a home in Windsor. Officers then obtained a search warrant.

Members of the ICE Unit raided the home on Thursday, and the suspect was arrested without incident.

The 20-year-old Windsor man has been charged with one count each of possessing, accessing, and distributing child pornography. The charges have not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call Windsor police ICE Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4896. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477).
