Mysterious military equipment found on Lakeshore beach

A homeowner in Lakeshore made an unusual find for this area, a piece of military equipment in the sand on the shore of Lake St. Clair.

The property owner called the Ontario Provincial Police to report it.

Military ordnance are military supplies and can include weapons, ammunition, tools, and other equipment. In this case, the object looked like a shell.

The OPP called the Department of National Defence, who called members at CFB Borden to remove it.

The object is a mystery. Because of its condition and age, military officials couldn't say where it came from.

Police have advice should you find any military equipment. Don't touch it, leave the area, and call 911.
