Another heat warning for Windsor-Essex

Heat and humidity are due to return to southwestern Ontario this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Windsor-Essex through at least Sunday.

The weather agency is calling for high temperatures to crack the 30 C mark both Saturday and Sunday.

While humidex readings are not expected to be as high as they were earlier this week, forecasters say they may still reach the upper 30s on both days.

Environment Canada says excessive heat can affect anyone, though young children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses are most susceptible. Drinking water and water-based liquids are suggested, and never leave people or pets in hot vehicles.

Showers are expected to move into the region on Sunday, along with a cold front that will cool things off Sunday night and Monday.
