Carelessness causes fire and $100,000 worth of damage

Windsor Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) responded to a fire on Erie Street West at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

It didn't take long for crews to extinguish the flames, as they declared it out about 20 minutes later.

WFRS said that two people have been displaced due to the fire, but no one was injured.

After an investigation, it was reported that careless disposal of materials started the fire, which caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
