UPDATE: $800,000 of damage after fire in Walkerville

The Windsor Fire and Rescue Service (WFRS) responded to the structure fire in the Walkerville area at approximately 11 a.m. where there were reports of very heavy smoke.

At that time, the fire department asked the public to avoid the area of Lincoln Road.

A tweet from WFRS showed crews still at work more than six hours later.

No injuries were reported, though three people have been displaced from their home.

An estimated $800,000 worth of damage was done. WFRS was unable to determine the cause of the fire as it was unsafe for investigators to enter the building.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
