No beaches closed this week

Swimming is not recommended at two regional beaches this week.

After completing water testing to check levels of e.coli, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit does not recommend swimming at Mettawas Beach and Belle River Beach.

The water was tested on Monday at nine area beaches. There are no beaches closed this week.

Bacteria levels can increase after heavy rainfall. The health unit does not recommend swimming at beaches at least 48 hours after a rainfall, or if the water is cloudy.

Beach testing results are posted each week on the health unit's website.
