Hospital battling a number of COVID-19 outbreaks

Windsor Regional Hospital is recommending all discharged patients self-isolate for 10 days after 39 patients tested positive for COVID-19 after being admitted to the hospital.

The hospital is experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks on 7 North, 6 North, 5 North, 4 North, and 4 West at the Met Campus and 7 East and 7 west at the Ouellette Campus.

According to the hospital, the majority of patients are not experiencing any symptoms.

All patients and being monitored for symptoms and are actively being tested for the virus.

Due to the volume of patients impacted by these outbreaks, the hospital is recommending that anyone discharged from the hospital self-monitor for symptoms and attempt to self-isolate for 10 days.

In total, there are 53 patients in the hospital who have tested positive for the virus. Only one patient is in the intensive care unit.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
