Bain running for another term

Another Essex County mayor has declared his intentions for the upcoming election.

Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain has filed his nomination papers to run for a fifth term as mayor.

Current Deputy Mayor Tracey Bailey is his only opposition at this time.

Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara and Leamington's mayor Hilda MacDonald are the only other Essex County mayors seeking re-election.

Amherstburg, Kingsville, LaSalle, and Pelee Island will all have new mayors after October as the incumbents have announced they will not be seeking re-election.

In Essex, Richard Meloche has filed to run for the position of mayor. He has filled the role since Larry Snively resigned earlier this year.

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has not declared his intentions for the upcoming election.

The last day to file nomination papers is August 19, 2022.

The election is on October 24.
