Hospital implementing visitor restrictions due to COVID-19

As more hospital patients test positive for COVID-19, Windsor Regional Hospital is putting visitor restrictions in place for units experiencing outbreaks.

The hospital has been battling outbreaks on several units at both campuses since the beginning of July. There have been 63 patients who have tested positive so far.

To reduce the spread and protect patients and staff, only two fully vaccinated visitors per patient will be allowed for the duration of the outbreak.

The units currently experiencing an outbreak are 7 North, 6 North, 5 North, 4 North, and 4 West at the Met campus and 2 North, 6 East, and 7 Medical at the Ouellette campus.

In addition, the hospital recommends all discharged patients self-monitor for symptoms and attempt to self-isolate for 10 days after leaving the hospital.
