Six displaced in Windsor fire

Six people are looking for a place to stay after a fire in east Windsor Wednesday night.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called shortly after 6:30 p.m. to Meadowbrook Lane off Essex Way.

The fire was declared out within an hour, but crews remained on scene to perform ventilation and overhaul, and an investigator was on hand to determine the cause and damage estimate.

The cause of the fire was accidental, and there were no injuries reported. However, six people have been displaced.

The damage estimate is at $60,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
