Agostino running for Ward 3 Councillor

A downtown business owner and event organizer has entered the race to become Ward 3 Councillor for the City of Windsor.

Renaldo Agostino filed his papers Tuesday morning.

"I have innovative ideas that a lot of people don't have because I'm down here, I see what's wrong I know solutions. You can't just throw money at problems," said Agostino.

His campaign will focus on four main pillars safety, making Ward 3 more business-friendly, attracting residents, and reintroducing downtown to the rest of Windsor.

"There's troublemakers, there's homeless people, and then there's the nightlife. There are a lot of safety issues that need to be discussed. I have experience and knowledge in helping to solve all of them. It's going to take a great team of people," said Agostino.

Incumbent Rino Bortolin has already announced he will not be seeking re-election this term.

DWBIA Chair Brian Yeomans, Ernie Lamont, and James McCarte are also running for the position.

The last day to file nomination papers for the upcoming election is August 19, 2022.

Election Day is October 24, 2022.
