Police seize $25K worth of cocaine

Windsor police officers seized nearly $25,000 worth of cocaine after an investigation by the Drugs and Guns Unit.

Windsor Police Constable Bianca Jackson reported the unit launched an investigation in June into the suspected trafficking of illicit drugs in the city. Investigators identified a suspect and involved vehicle as part of the operation.

Around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, police stopped the vehicle on Dougall Avenue and arrested the driver without incident.

The driver was allegedly in possession of 249.1 grams of cocaine with a street value of $24,900.

A 40-year-old man from Shelbourne, Ontario has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
