Over 5,000 students still face suspension over immunizations

More than 5,200 students in Windsor-Essex still face suspension because their immunizations are not up to date or their records haven't been updated.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit said they were still missing records for 5,234 students.

That is down from 7,858 earlier this month.

The students have until September 12 to update their records, or they face suspension of up to 20 days.

The health unit continues to take appointments to immunize students. CEO Nicole Dupuis said the clinics are busy, and more appointments are being added.

Families can book an immunization or submit their records online at www.wechu.org or call 519-258-2146 ext. 4500.
