Second shift extended again at WAP

Unifor Local 444 announced late Friday evening that the second shift at the Windsor Assembly Plant is being extended again.

The announcement came in shortly after 6:30 p.m. via Twitter.

In the tweet, the union said the company has agreed to extend the second shift at Stellantis until at least the end of June 2023.

In April, Unifor announced that it had been in contact with the automaker and the second shift would be extended until the end of the year.

Several weeks after that announcement in May, plans to bring back a third shift were shared as part of a $3.6-billion investment for Windsor and the Brampton Assembly Plant.

No other details have been provided.
