Walk to prevent crime in Uptown Leamington

The Ontario Provincial Police and the Municipality of Leamington hope a public walk will help cut crime in Uptown Leamington.

The Safety and Crime Prevention Walk is on Sunday, September 18, from 10:20 a.m. to noon.

Residents and business owners can join OPP officers and Windsor Police officers on a community walk to learn how to prevent crime and tips to protect themselves.

Crime Stoppers Windsor and Essex County and Youth Diversion Essex County are also participating.

They hope to change the way people see and walk through their neighbourhoods.

Participants will meet in Dieppe Park, also called Legion Park, on Princess Street beforehand. The group will head to Shotton Parkette and back.
