Audi crashes into portable toilet and then motorcyclist

A Windsor man faces charges, and a motorcyclist is recovering after a crash Saturday morning in Tecumseh.

The Ontario Provincial Police said a car was on Manning Road just before 8 a.m. when it hit a portable toilet. The driver kept going and then rear-ended a motorcycle.

Paramedics took the motorcyclist to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When officers arrived, the driver of the Audi fled on foot, but they found him a short distance away.

However, the man assaulted an officer before his arrest.

The officer was not hurt.

Police have charged a 30-year-old man with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, assault with intent to resist arrest, and mischief under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.

He has been released from police custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on October 4.
