Motion targets bad behaviour at Kingsville Lions Park

Kingsville Town Council will talk about several incidents in Lions Park involving loud music late at night, loud profanity, and intimidation.

Councillor Laura Lucier said nearby neighbours are concerned for their safety.

"One of the residents was threatened," she said. "There were some slurs."

Lucier will introduce a motion on Monday night calling for a report from the OPP about the complaints they've received and how they were handled.

She said there is a curfew in the Mill Street park, but it is difficult to enforce.

"It leaves it to the neighbours to call to complain, and that puts them in a situation where they may be targeted," explained Lucier.

She said the town is investing in the park.

"I think it's a great space," she said. "We've got accessible community playground equipment coming into space with some accessible washroom facilities. There's a community garden."

The playground equipment was supposed to be installed this year but has been delayed.
