Tecumseh woman says 'yes' to Encore, wins $100K

A Tecumseh grandmother has 100,000 thousand reasons to be happy after winning on the OLG's Encore feature.

Carmen Linwood matched the last six of the seven Encore digits, which were activated by paying an extra dollar on her August 16 Lotto MAX ticket. She won the second prize of $100,000.

"I couldn’t scream because my grandkids were sleeping so I had to do a silent dance," said Linwood while picking up her prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. "I’ve had many sleepless nights since then."

She purchased her winning ticket at the London Husky Travel Centre in Belmont, in Elgin County.

Linwood plans to share the winnings with her family, pay off some bills, and take a vacation.

Encore is a feature on many OLG games that is activated for an additional $1 bet. There are 22 possible winning combinations ranging from $2 to $1-million.
