High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

If you're a regular late-night user of the E.C. Row Expressway, you may want to adjust your route Wednesday night.
The City of Windsor has reminded drivers that the freeway will undergo another overnight closure so crews can continue road work.
The eastbound lanes of the E.C. Row will shut down between Banwell Road and Lauzon Parkway between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday, to lessen the impact on drivers.
Both directions of the freeway between Lauzon Parkway and Banwell were closed last week due to the ongoing project.
The City said the off-ramps at Lauzon Parkway will remain open, but strongly recommends an alternate route for drivers.
