Plan needed for future of Met hospital site

As the new hospital project moves forward, Windsor Ward Four candidate Matt Marchand wants to make sure there's a plan for Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus.

That's why, if elected, he wants to introduce a community improvement plan for the area.

"We need to get maximum community engagement on this site, and the neighbourhood and the community itself can determine what exactly the future of this site looks like," said Marchand.

He said he doesn't want to see the building abandoned and the site left vacant like the former Grace Hospital location.

Eight candidates are campaigning for the Ward 4 seat, which is open due to incumbent Chris Holt’s mayoral campaign. The other candidates are Giovanni Abati, Edy Haddad, Gregory Heil, Mark McKenzie, Jake Rondot, Kristen Siapas, and Patrick Sutherland.

Election Day is on October 24, 2022.
