UPDATE: Drugs found in suspicious package at Ambassador Bridge

The Canada Border Services Agency has taken over the investigation after a locked box caused a tense couple of hours on the Canadian side of the Ambassador Bridge.

The suspicious box was discovered around 9 p.m. on Sunday inside a vehicle that officials had pulled over.

It prompted officials to evacuate the immediate area and halt cross-border traffic.

The Windsor Police Explosive Disposal Unit arrived shortly afterwards to examine the package.

It turned out it didn't contain explosives but rather an electronic scale, drug paraphernalia, and suspected narcotics.

The bridge reopened early Monday morning.

So far, there is no word if officials arrested any suspects.
