Bailey unseats Bain in Lakeshore, Tecumseh and LaSalle results

Tracey Bailey, Lakeshore's Deputy Mayor, has unseated long-time Mayor Tom Bain.

Bailey won 5,638 votes, to Bain's 3,447 in the unofficial results.

Voters in Lakeshore also elected Kirk Walstedt as Deputy Mayor, Ryan McNamara in Ward 1, Paddy Byrne in Ward 2, Kelsey Santarossa in Ward 3, Jennifer Alderson in Ward 4, Tim McDermott in Ward 5, and in Ward 6, Larissa Vogler.

Unofficial results are also in for voters in Tecumseh and LaSalle.

In Tecumseh, Alicia Higgison will represent residents in Ward 1, James Dorner in Ward 2, Rick Tonial in Ward 3, and Tania Jobin in Ward 5.

Brian Houston in Ward 4 was acclaimed, along with Mayor Gary McNamara and Deputy Mayor Joe Bachetti.

LaSalle's new Mayor and Deputy Mayor have already been decided.  Crystal Meloche was acclaimed as Mayor, and Mike Akpata, as Deputy Mayor.

Electors have chosen Terry Burns, Mark Carrick, Sue Desjarlais, Jeff Renaud, and Anita Riccio-Spagnuolo to represent them on town council.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
