19-year-old charged with assault at Leamington school

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a Leamington man following an assault at a local high school.

Officers were called at around 1 p.m. Monday to Leamington District Secondary School (LDSS) on a report of multiple students being assaulted. Three students were attacked, according to police.

One of them suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.

Police soon arrested a 19-year-old man. He has been charged with three counts of assault with a weapon.

The suspect, who is not being identified, has been held pending a bail hearing. The charges have not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed what happened and has not spoken with police is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
