UPDATE: Fire in east Windsor accidental, displaces several people

A fire that broke out in east Windsor on Halloween night is under investigation.

According to the Windsor Fire Department, firefighters responded to a blaze at a home on Princess Avenue south of Tecumseh Road East sometime around 7 p.m. Monday.

Just before 8:30 p.m., fire officials tweeted that the fire was out and said a fire investigator has been called in to assess.

No injuries were reported.

The investigator spent most of the night on scene and determined that the fire's cause was accidental and that several people are looking for a place to stay. The damage estimate was around $450,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
