Four displaced following west Windsor fire

Four people are currently looking for a place to stay after a house fire near the University of Windsor campus Tuesday.

Windsor Fire and Rescue said crews were called around 2 p.m. to the house on Randolph Avenue between Wyandotte Street West and Union Street.

The fire was put out quickly and no injuries were reported. Four people in the house have been displaced.

Fire officials blamed the blaze on careless cooking. The damage estimate is at $100,000.

This is the second house fire Windsor firefighters dealt with on Tuesday. Several people were displaced from a home on Princess Avenue south of Tecumseh Road East after a fire on Halloween night Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
