Impaired charges laid after a pair of county collisions

A man from Tecumseh and another from Leamington face impaired driving charges after two collisions over the weekend in Essex County.

The first was on Mersea Road 7 in Leamington. Before 9 p.m. last Saturday, the Ontario Provincial Police arrived to find a vehicle in the ditch.

The driver needed the help of paramedics to get out of the vehicle. EMS took him to the hospital as a precaution.

Police charged a 47-year-old Leamington man.

The second collision was around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday on County Road 42 in Lakeshore.

Two vehicles collided, but one driver drove away.

Police found the vehicle a short distance away and arrested a 24-year-old Tecumseh man.

The OPP reminds the public to call 911 if they suspect someone is driving impaired by drugs or alcohol.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
