Police charge suspect after restaurant window smashed

A Windsor man is accused of smashing a restaurant window and threatening the police officers who came to arrest him.

Early Saturday morning, Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a restaurant in Tecumseh on Tecumseh Road East near Shawnee Road.

They spotted the broken window, and the staff at the restaurant pointed out a suspect.

However, during the arrest, the suspect became verbally and physically aggressive, and an officer was hurt.

A 28-year-old suspect is charged with mischief under $5,000, uttering threats, causing a disturbance, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.

The accused has a scheduled court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
