The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign kicks off Thursday.
Organizers hope to raise $200,000 in the community before Christmas Eve.
The funds are used to support individuals and families with necessities like food, clothing, and shelter.
“We are grateful for the generosity of the community who contribute to our Christmas Kettle Campaign. We appreciate your continued support; it is because of you, our Army of Givers, that we are able to help the most vulnerable in Windsor by restoring dignity and giving hope throughout the year. Thank you for helping us help others,” says Captain Nyree Bond, Community Ministries Officer.
This year's kettles will once again be equipped with TipTap making it easy to donate with a debit or credit card.
The kettles will start appearing in shopping areas such as Devonshire Mall, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstore, LCBO, Caesars Windsor, and more.
Each year the local Salvation Army provides around 14,000 individuals with food security, and over 1,000 children and families with Christmas toys and hampers.
