The Windsor Police Service continues to look for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident over the weekend.

Police reported a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Elsmere and Ellis Street East around 8 p.m. Friday. The 33-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Windsor police are urging the driver to turn themselves in.

Investigators now have surveillance video of the suspect vehicle, which is believed to be a 2008-2010 dark-coloured Dodge Caravan with heavy front-end damage and a missing car emblem.

Any auto body shops and mechanics who are asked to repair a minivan with similar descriptors are encouraged to call the Windsor Police Service.

Police are also looking to speak with a witness who was in the area at the time of the collision. The witness, who was driving a blue SUV-type vehicle, traveled north on Elsmere Avenue and stopped for several minutes near the location of the incident.
