Lanspeary outdoor rink opening soon

The City of Windsor is preparing to offer outdoor skating at Lanspeary Lions Outdoor Rink.

Weather permitting, the rink will open on Saturday, December 3 for both rentals and free public skating.

Free public skating is Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The rink will also have parent and tot skating on Mondays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and adult skating on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This is the only outdoor rink the City of Windsor will be operating this year. In June, the city council voted to decommission the rink at Charles Clark Square because of needed repairs.

City administration is working toward a new ice-skating surface as part of the new City Hall Square and Civic Esplanade project.
