Three injured during crash involving transport truck near Kingsville

Several people occupying a passenger vehicle were taken to hospital after a crash involving a commercial vehicle near Kingsville late Wednesday afternoon.

Essex County provincial police say the crash happened just after 4 p.m. when emergency crews were called to the scene of Highway 3 at County Road 8 for a "serious collision."

Paramedics arrived and transported three people inside passenger vehicle to hospital. Police say one of the occupants suffered life-threatening injuries while the other two are said to have sustained non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was not hurt in the crash.

The intersection was closed for most of Wednesday night and reopened around 3 a.m. on Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
