LaSalle holiday displays light up Friday

The Town of LaSalle's holiday light displays and holiday events received a boost from the federal government this year.

The town received a $75,000 grant from the My Main Street Community Activator Program for the Holiday Lights Heritage Nights event.

The displays will light up for the first time Friday evening and be turned on each evening until January 8, 2023.

“We are pleased to receive support from My Main Street for Holiday Lights Heritage Nights. Our event is a great meeting place in the Malden Town Centre to celebrate the season. With the light display and weekend programming, we offer activities for everyone,” said Patti Funaro, director of culture and recreation with the Town of LaSalle.

There will be weekend activities starting this weekend until the weekend of December 18. The activities will be geared toward families on Fridays, sounds of the season on Saturday and there will be night markets on Sundays.

Displays throughout Malden Town Centre and the Lasalle Civic Centre will include ornamental displays and a 40-foot-tall walk-through tree. New this year, visitors can bring their ice skates and helmets and try the Glice Synthetic Eco Rink for a family recreational skate.
